Whether you love football or you just get a vicarious kick out of it, foosball allows you to enjoy the thrill of football without needing to meet the rigorous physical demands or space required by football. You get an avenue to release that competitive energy and the rush of scoring a goal indoors. Socializing and having fun does not always mean having to go outside!
As such, a foosball table would be a great addition to any man cave or game room and if you want to go big or turn pro you may want to invest in a good foosball table. You get to practice and enjoy the benefits of foosball anytime you want. So, we will take a look at four foosball tables that will take you to that journey and hopefully give you that pro experience.
Let us get rolling!!!
1. Tornado T-3000 Coin Foosball Table
The Tornado T-3000 Coin Foosball Table is a commercial coin-operated model. This is the type that you would commonly find in bars and restaurants. In most cases, you will have to pay to play. So as far as being strictly a tournament foosball table is concerned, we would probably need to look at something else. Unless by tournament we mean whoever wins the match takes all the money in the coin reservoir, this table does not closely match the definition of a tournament foosball table but it can lend, or more aptly, vend you that experience.
As it is for commercial use, it is designed to withstand use and abuse and it has a stainless steel finish. It features a five-coin push chute mechanism that accepts tokens or coin and you get to decide how much games cost or you can set it to free play. The sharp corners allow better ball control. The handles are also interchangeable to guarantee that firm grip. It also boasts of better control and shot-blocking due to its split bearings.
It comes with 15 foosball balls so the fun never stops if you lose or wear some!
2. Garlando G-500 Indoor Foosball Table
The Garlando G-500 Foosball Table can be thought of as the recreational indoor foosball version of the Garlando World Champion due to its resemblance to the latter. It can be a good training table for players who are just beginning to compete.
It has telescopic rods as a safety feature which is especially convenient if you have children. No one would end up getting poked by rods from the other side of the table and have a poking match instead of a foosball match. If you intend to use this as a training foosball table, you may want to contact the manufacturer to replace the telescopic rods as these may not provide the same feel and gameplay needed in competitions.
The table has a wooden finish which gives it a classy look. You would not have to worry about it sticking out like a sore thumb in your home amongst all of your other furniture. It would practically complement anyone’s home or office décor. The surface is made of glass for extra smooth games and this also makes cleaning easy peasy.
Not only is it classy but it is also rigid. It has a thick cabinet made of high-quality medium-density fiberboard (MDF) which allows it to withstand tough games. Now tough games need not be loud with the Garlando G-500 Indoor Foosball Table as the plastic laminate field muffles the noise.
Its metal legs provide the needed support and help keep the foosball table in place. The legs are covered in powder varnish for protection and to discourage scratches and wear so this is something that was built to last. It would have been great though if it had leg levelers but if the table is going to be on a flat surface, this should not be an issue at all.
Another drawback is the absence or lack of counterbalanced men. Non-counterbalanced men could get sloppy and would miss shots. Well, that will make a pretty good excuse for you missing those shots. It’s not you, it’s them!
The package comes with 10 foosball balls so that you will always have a ball rolling.
3. Valley-Dynamo 3 Goalie Big D Foosball Table
The Valley-Dynamo 3 Goalie Big D Foosball Table features a rich-looking Gunstock Savoy laminate. You can never go wrong with getting a classic design to virtually fit in in any setting.
It seems to be well-built but if you have been playing pro, you may find this table a little lighter than what you are used to but it still provides the needed stability.
The legs have commercial-grade adjustable leg levelers to get that perfect angle on uneven surfaces. The steel chrome rods come with octagonal wood handles with roll pins which are easy to maneuver. A ¾ inch laminate covers the playing field to get rid of resistance and therefore enables powerful shots.
Another interesting feature of this foosball table is the ball. Although it comes in a classic yellow color, it is textured to provide players that additional control.
The only hitch that we found is that the players are not counterbalanced which, as we had discussed earlier, is quite an important factor when getting a foosball table.
Overall, this table would be great for small tournaments among family and friends!
4. Warrior Table Soccer Pro Foosball Table
The Warrior Table Soccer Pro Foosball Table is endorsed by the ITSF (International Table Soccer Federation) and United States Table Soccer Federation (USTSF) which suggests that it is tournament material and may give us a bang for every buck spent on it.
The manufacturer had safety in mind when they designed this foosball table and added rod guards so that if you get distracted, you do not accidentally get stabbed by a fast-moving rod (Ouch!) and you would not have any unwarranted accidents if children get too close when playing.
It is also pretty easy and fast to assemble. It takes no more than an hour to put it all together and get it up and going!
It is made of quality medium-density fiberboard (MDF) which makes it durable. The field is made from PVC laminate and does not have stickers that could come off from constant use so the surface will always remain smooth. Apart from having leg levelers, it also has rubberized feet to make sure that the table stays where it is at no matter how intense the game gets.
The players are made from ABS plastic which is resistant to physical impacts and can withstand intensive use. You can get carried away but your men will never give in to the pressure!
This foosball table could turn from great to excellent if the ball weren’t too heavy for those swift shots.
What should I look for when investing in a foosball table?
The following would be of top priority: material, size, legs of the table, adjustability of the table height, type of rod, number of goalies, and foosball ball quality.
First of all, we would want a table that will last. Don’t we all? Tables made of high-quality wood or wood composites, although expensive, are more durable. Those made of particle boards or plastic would not be able to endure as much.
Second, make sure that you have the space needed for a full-sized foosball table. If we take into account the size of the table, the length of the rods, and the space that the players will occupy, we would probably need an area of about 56 square feet.
Third, the legs have to be stable so they ideally would have to be thick. We would not want the ball to be led astray by a wobbly table. Tables with stable legs also help maintain its durability.
The table’s height has also to be adjustable so that every boy, girl, woman, and man can play. It would also be great if the table has leg levelers to ensure that we have an even playing field if the table is not on a flat surface and not have physics work against us (but it would not be so bad if it is inclined to work to our advantage).
And now the rods. Opt for foosball tables with hollow steel rods since those move with more ease compared to solid ones.
The number of goalies would matter as well. Depending on your skills and/or preference, you have the option to get a single goalie table or a three goalie one. There are tables that will allow you to switch up from 1 to 3 and vice versa.
And lastly and probably the one that can sometimes be overlooked is the quality of the foosball ball. Shiny is not always golden. In foosball, a shiny foosball ball does not have too good a grip so let’s shy away from plastic ones. Subtly textured ones could give the needed grip for control. And just one more thing. A heavy ball is a sluggish ball. Unless you are aiming for an increased arm workout, check if the ball is just the right weight so that you can deliver swift shots for less effort.
What the other tournament foosball tables brands that I can check out?
Apart from the ones that we have covered, models from KICK, Carrom, Atomic, Harvil, EA Sports, and Best Choice Products are worth taking a look at. There’s a plethora of choices and we may review some of them for you in the future!
Being certified by the ITSF (International Table Soccer Federation) and United States Table Soccer Federation (USTSF), having unique rod guards for safety, and having the best price to quality ratio make the Warrior Table Soccer Pro Foosball Table the winner in this list!
Each of the foosball tables that we reviewed addresses different types of audiences and foosers. The Tornado T-3000 Coin Foosball Table is for when you are just chilling or getting in a heated bar foosball fight. Need a training foosball table? The Garlando G-500 Indoor Foosball Table would be your pick. For those small friendly matches, you can rely on the Valley-Dynamo 3 Goalie Big D Foosball Table. And finally, if you want to go big on the game and big on savings, the Warrior Table Soccer Pro Foosball Table will give you exactly just that.
Whichever it is that you choose, the most important thing is that you have fun! Whether you are feeding the need for competition, playing for a prize or bragging rights, or just simply taking the time to bond with friends and family, or making new friends, the only thing that matters is that everyone enjoys it. Foosball, after all, is not a one-man game.
Hopefully, this has been of help in you getting that perfect foosball table. Thanks and have a ball!
